WA Lit Journal

BOARD MEMBER APPLICATIONS

As it is our first year running the Words Alike Literary Journal, we will be looking for board members to assist in the making.

We are seeking writers, readers and editors who are passionate about writing and the cause Words Alike stands for: providing a comfortable environment for any type of writer and creating opportunities to new, young and emerging writers.

It isn't required that you have experience working for other writing organisations or journals, but it will be taken into consideration.

Please acknowledge that these are volunteer positions and at best, we can offer free copies of the printed journal. We also require active participation and if that is not fulfilled, you will be at risk of termination from the board. Communication will be through the texting and calling application "Discord" so it is a requirement that you have this app and an account, or are willing to make an account.

You can apply for multiple positions but it is unlikely that you will be accepted for all of them.

Your applications will be judged by Quinn Andaver, executive of Words Alike, and the director board. All applications will be judged fairly and without bias. Passion is the key.

Below are the roles that make up our board which will also indicate if they are open to applications or not. The application form is located at the bottom of the page.

DIRECTOR BOARD

Directors are at the head of operations and are in charge of designated areas in the creation of the literary journal. These positions aren't typically open to public, but will be open to already hired members who show leadership skills and strong dedication to their work.

Chief Executive/Director

The Chief Executive/Director is in charge of all areas. This position is automatically filled by Quinn Andaver who is the head of Words Alike. Quinn will be looking over other directors to make sure they fill their position appropriately.

The Director of Prose is in charge of the prose editing board. You will overlook the hiring of prose editors as well as their work in editing and judging pieces.

As a prose director, you will have a large contribution in which pieces will be chosen and you must actively be an editor as well with the rest of your team.

Your judgement must be unbias and cannot be swayed by who is entering or what topic the piece is written for. This position is not open for application, but whether you are interested or not will be considered.

They are supervised by the Director of Prose. You must have a passion for prose or be a prose writer yourself.
